Biographie

Soprano lyrique, improvisatrice, compositrice

A native of south-west of France, Laura began music with French song. She took her first steps on stage at the age of 8 at the Limoges theatre. From then on, she went from galas to galas, traveling around France on weekends alongside her singer-guitarist father. During these years, Laura worked on her voice with an opera singing teacher, studied the piano as well as the transverse flute. At 15, she discovered jazz and joined the big band of Cahors, her hometown, as a solo singer. Just after passing her Baccalauréat, she studied jazz and improvisation at the Toulouse Conservatory before flying to Paris where she became a professional singer performing in the capital's jazz clubs. At the same time, Laura gradually turns to classical music. In 2012, aged 23, she studied lyrical singing in a specialized cycle at the Conservatoire de Paris with Sophie Hervé in order to obtain a DEM. In 2013, she won a Sacem prize for the autoproduction of jazz & soul compositions EP entitled “Hear my voice”. With the complicity of the French pianist Laurent Coulondre, twice awarded at the « Jazz Victoires de la Musique », she released a first album of compositions and standards entitled "Secret Facet". In 2015, she won the 1st prize of the “Jazz à Vannes” contest and finished as a finalist in the “Shure Montreux Jazz Voice Competition”. In 2017, in partnership with the Jazz in Marciac festival, Laura embarked on writing a musical show for young audiences that could bring together her two passions "Madame Classique & Mister jazz". This project occurs in particular on the stages of the Philharmonie de Paris, Jazz in Marciac, Wolfi jazz, the theater of Compiegne etc. In 2021, she participates as a performer, composer and Artistic Director in Laurent Coulondre's new album and Latin-jazz ensemble "Meva Festa" which tours in festivals in France and abroad. In 2022, she joined the opera studio of the city of Bourges "La Fabrique Lyrique" under the direction of Jean-Francis Monvoisin (tenor), Catherine Van Hecke, François de Carpentries (Stage Directors) and Sophie Hervé (Soprano).
